Responsible for the efficient management, supervision and training of personnel assigned to MSEM which inspects, maintains, and services assigned non-powered Munitions Material Handling Equipment (MMHE). The employee is a first-line supervisor of production and, as such, is the technical advisor to the Section Chief and Munitions Dept. Superintendent to ensure MSEM meets all contractual requirements IAW with the Performance Work Statement. Uses IMDS and MC2 as part of routine duties. Depending on operational tempo may at times be required to participate as part of the work force conducting explosives operations. Responsible for quality assurance, control and established processes as part of the ISO 9001, Quality and Safety Standards.
Observe and enforce all USAF and host nation explosives safety, AFOSH, and security standards applicable to MSEM or when augmenting explosives and non-explosives operations of the Munitions Dept.
In the event of an emergency, take necessary control and timely response actions.
Develop the yearly master and monthly MMHE maintenance control plan IAW with established contractual standards.
Analyze MMHE scheduling of production for compliance with established quality processes, identifying potential problems and recommending problem solving solutions.
Evaluate production and equipment performance to identify deficient areas and initiate corrective action.
Ensure availability, currency and consistent use of publications essential to the Element's needs.
Review and submit recurring MMHE deliverables IAW PWS and Munitions SOP delivery schedule.
Document equipment records IAW T.O. 00-20-1; process appropriate transaction in WRMMS until IMDS/G081 is fully implemented; update applicable MC2 MSEM folders.
Manage the reconditioning, repair, and corrosion control program of all assigned MMHE according to technical standards.
Plan actions for MMHE to be in maximum deep storage, ready-to-ship configuration to include stacking of trailers.
Coordinate with the applicable Supply Dept. Section to resolve any serviceability and accountability for MMHE.
Participate in the planning, management, and preparation of MMHE equipment (air, land, sea).
Advice Munitions Control and Section Chief of job status scheduling delays, shortfall of resources.
Supervise assigned workforce, to include foreign nationals, providing clear instructions and direction about assigned MMHE production efforts.
Evaluate skills, aptitudes and proficiency of assigned personnel to develop work center training requirements and ensure effective relevant training programs are instituted.
Enforce compliance of supply discipline IAW AF23-110 and DI SOPs for bench/operating socks.
Supervise the management of tool storage, CTKs, and special equipment for compliance actions.
Oversee compliance of shelf life items (lubricants, paint, etc.) to include availability of MSDS for assets.
Ensure all forklift operators complete power industrial training and certification according to standards.
Enforce operators pre-use and maintenance actions on light vehicles, hoists and handling equipment.
Works necessary hours, to include stand-by duties, to support mission requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Munitions Production Chief or Munitions Superintendent.
Knowledge & Skills
Knowledgeable of the USAF Supply and Tech Order systems.
Prior MMHE experience preferred.
Normal color perception and depth of vision.
A valid US, Qatar/Oman/UAE driver's license.
Must be capable of obtaining a host nation's driver's license.
Experience & Education
Eight years' experience on Military Munitions, preferably USAF.
Minimum three years combined supervisory experience on USAF storage, maintenance and inspection procedures, to include IMDS and CAS, for MMHE and Munitions.
US Secret Security Clearance required.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Physically capable of performing all required duties in adverse weather conditions; capable of lifting 50 lbs. and perform extensive work.
