Description

SAIC is seeking a Ops Transition Analyst for the Global Positioning System (GPS) Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) Team. The GPS SE&I Team provides specialized engineering, analysis, operations support, and subject matter expertise to the SMC/GP Directorate and other GPS customers.  The Team also provides systems engineering and analysis services to include system development, enterprise and system architecture, acquisition, testing, operations, and sustainment support for existing and new capabilities. Team members provide an enterprise perspective for identification and review of risks and risk mitigation plans and work to institutionalize systems engineering best practices across the SMC/GP Directorate organization.  The Ops Transition Analyst provides analytics for Transition execution with key insights in Data Migration and Synchronization Accuracy, and OCX Transition Performance Criteria and Transition Comparison Tolerances. 

  • Performs systems engineering analyses, technical reviews, and assessments; coordinate analyses efforts, methods, and techniques; develop products and briefings; and perform technical engagement with, and briefings for and to, government customers, stakeholders, and developer 
  • Analyzes and leads coordination of the eight (8) required Transition Comparison Tool SME Teams to include: Commanding, GPS Information Network (GIN) IN Zero Age of Data (ZAOD) Products, Ephemeris and Clock (Pre/Post Processed), Navigation Uploads, High Accuracy Navigation User (HANU) message files, Navigation Warfare (NAVWAR) Schedule Processing, Processed S-Band Telemetry, and Operational Limits and Thresholds.
  • Develops transition to operations plans, support reviews, utilize and improve systems processes 
  • Works closely with GPS operators from 2 SOPS and 19 SOPS at Schriever AFB CO as well as Aerospace and MITRE support to OCX.
  • Develops detailed transition execution plans and checklists to facilitate successful and seamless transition, Oversees transition inputs to Certification of System Readiness for Dedicated Operational Test
  • Assists transition to operations with GPS Modernization Subject Matter Expert (SME) development and certification, and Transition Crew development and certification, Organizes training and rehearsal of Transition Comparison Tool SME Teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Current DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience managing operational transitions and fielding of complex systems 
  • Ability to think critically, synthesize information from multiple sources into comprehensive plans, assimilate diverse user and mission needs, identify technical issues, and understand impacts within and external to the GPS Enterprise 
  • Experience in Space Operations with emphasis on GPS navigation and Kalman Filter operations. Knowledge of Operational Suitability, Safety, and Effectiveness elements

Desired Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering
  • USAF Operations & Maintenance experience
  • 2 SOPS or 19 SOPS Experience
  • Experience with Test, Transition, and GPS External Interfaces
  • Experience with 14 AF, HANU, JSpOC, NGA, SNL, or USNO
