The candidate will be responsible for the operational support for a Windows Server enterprise wide implementation, to include maintenance, administration, troubleshooting, uptime and disaster recovery in support of Mission Command and C2 systems. The successful candidate will work closely with the Windows and Cyber technical teams to ensure that administration and implementation are conducted per policy, procedures and best practices.

 

Priority will be on the ability to use sound judgement to maintain a good balance of system security while maintaining proper system or application functionality for the end-user; scope of systems administration focuses around ensuring the systems support the proper operation and functionality of Mission Command/C2 applications.

 

Job Details:
- Build, configure, install and manage Windows servers and client systems.
- Customize and implement server hardware and software, including operating systems, security, backups, monitoring, storage, remote access systems, and network management systems.
- Deploy Windows Servers and Active Directory within a load-balancing enterprise topology.
- Set up system, service, and user accounts in accordance with established Cyber guidance.
- Configure and maintain Active Directory infrastructure, maintaining integrity across a dispersed architecture.
- Configure and implement Active Directory Sites for optimum efficiency.
- Implement an enterprise Active Directory infrastructure across multiple domains.
- Implements and maintains Group Policy Objects (GPO's) to enforce system security settings
- Configure and maintain Active Directory integrated DNS.
- Create and maintain necessary operating system backups.
- Request, install, and maintain server certificates
- Evaluate Cyber Compliance against ACAS & STIG scans.
- Create system documentation and procedural instructions, including diagramming with Visio.
- May be required to forward deploy alongside Army units in austere locations for up to six weeks in order to provide field level C2 systems support.

Qualifications:

- 5 to 10 years experience supporting complex enterprise level applications and knowledge of how application components interrelate and work together, including internal and external interfaces, etc. as it relates to supporting an enterprise wide Microsoft implementation in a high availability and distributed environment is a plus.

- Experience integrating and fielding system patches and releases, rebuilding servers & clients in accordance with DoD and PMO guidelines, and investigating and managing computer security incidents preferred.

- Significant experience maintaining Microsoft Server 2008/2012 R2 and client operating systems required.

- A Windows server certification is desired.
- Firm understanding of Windows network setup, configuration, and troubleshooting required.
- Understanding of ESXi Virtual Environments to include snapshots and V-Motion a plus.
- Desired experience with fault tolerant systems - designing, developing disaster recovery plans, developing backup procedures, restoration of files/file systems/storage media.
- Significant experience maintaining Microsoft Server 2008/2012 R2 and client operating systems required.
- A Windows server certification is desired.
- Understanding of ESXi Virtual Environments to include snapshots and V-Motion a plus.
- Must be able to operate independently with little or no supervision.

- Candidate must be able to meet German TESA requirements.
- Candidate must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification requirements on day 1.
- Candidate must obtain ITIL Foundation certification within 90 days of hire.
- Candidate may be required to obtain a Windows Server certification within 90 days of hire.

 

German TESA requirements:
- A bachelors degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
- An associates degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
- A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
- 11 years of recent specialized experience.
