We have an immediate need for an Systems Engineer to assist in implementing new features and services through assessing and testing new techniques and support processes. Of particular importance is the ability of the resources to understand and operate within an Active Directory environment.
The Systems Engineer will be responsible for:
Define, monitor, and assess Supplier activities and deliverables.
Review and formally approve Supplier deliverables.
Provide clarification on business requirements and technical design issues.
Review and approve the Supplier’s project plans and proposed technical solutions.
When appropriate, provide the technical resources necessary to install application software.
When appropriate, provide test data from existing legacy system test databases to test system interfaces.
Provide an acceptance/rejection notice for deliverables to the Supplier.
Determine when and where meetings will be held. For meetings at USPS facilities, the USPS will provide facilities (including meeting rooms), equipment, property, and materials necessary to conduct the meeting.

Six years of experience progressively working with the more difficult aspects of Windows with two (4) years experience in the last three years in planning, architecting, developing, testing, and implementing PC LANs.
Working knowledge of state of the art LAN systems hardware, software techniques, and concepts including OSI model, repeaters, bridges, routers, gateways, TCP/IP, SNMP protocols, IEEE Ethernet and cable standards.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to formulate and document proposed LAN system and operating system solutions with comprehensive, quantitative, and qualitative terms appropriate for comparative analysis
Ability to design, install, implement, support, and troubleshoot Microsoft’s BackOffice, Windows server, Exchange server, Internet Information Server (IIS), Microsoft SQL server, Content Replication, Internet News, NetMeeting, SCCM server, Terminal Server, Site Server, Remote Access Server, DHCP, WINS, and DNS.
Demonstrated experience with hardware and software testing, integration, installation, configuration, and problem solving; especially for Windows 7/10 clients and Windows Server, and Microsoft Office
Other Windows related Engineering activities as requested by USPS from time to time during the Period of Performance.
Able to create, image, image deployments, configuration file creation and management, packaging, primary contact to stakeholders and vendor partners for deployments
Able to diagnosis, investigation, recovery and resolution of various types of hardware problems and software issues, primary L3 Support for desktop.
Scripting (batch files, VBScript, PowerShell) and working knowledge of Active Directory- Group Policy (GPO), DNS, DHCP and SCCM
Familiarity with Desktop Image creation/deployment process using MDT and SCCM.
Understanding of encryption process using windows bit locker or WinMagic SecureDoc
Knowledge of ServiceNow ticketing system
Previous demonstrated skills in Database Conversions, data mapping, interface definition and creation.
Ability to reverse engineer, revise code in existing systems for use in development of new business systems. Abilities should include design and development knowledge utilizing industry standard database and web development tools including SQL, Oracle, WebSphere and Cold Fusion.
Provide advanced support for all production failures as assigned and support and comply with company problem management standards and processes.
Perform application development, enhancement, and maintenance support for application code for services ranging from simple to extremely complex.
As needed: peer review of code, design test plans, and base performance validation.
Design, development and improvement of scripts. Implementation of test plans for all program changes.
Complete all mandatory application documentation.
Evaluate, plan, manage, track, and provide status on system maintenance, enhancement, and support activities at a task level, as assigned.

A four-year degree in Computer Science or a related field is required. An equivalent combination of education or experience in computer or telecommunications architectures, systems analysis, and management of information technology may be substituted.
