GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Demilitarization Technician (Demil Tech) supports the overall Program Manager (PM) in all matters pertaining to successful contract business performance. These elements include but are not limited to:

Familiarity with specific families of conventional munitions and tracked using the Munitions Items Disposition Action System (MIDAS) including:

  • Pyrotechnics/Illumination/Nonfrag/Tracers (FP)
  • HE Bombs (HB)
  • HE Cartridges (HC)
  • Bulk High Explosives (HE)
  • HE ICM/CBU & Submunitions (HI)
  • HE Depth Charges and Underwater Munitions (HH)
  • Mines (HZ)
  • Propellant Munitions/Components (PD)
  • HE Rockets (HR)
  • Torpedoes (HT)
  • Demolition Materiel (HX)
  • Bulk Propellant (PB)
  • Propellant Charges & Increments (PC)
  • Small Arms Ammunition (SA)
  • Incinerable Munitions and Components (SC
  • Fuzes (SF)
  • Inert Items (I)
  • Incendiary/Thermite (FI)
  • HE Grenades HE (HG)
  • Sonobouys (SB)
  • Smokes and Dyes (CS)
  • HC Smoke (CH)
  • Riot Control Munitions (CR)

Knowledge of ammunition component disposal in an environmentally safe manner including propellant, explosives, pyrotechnics (PEP); explosive materials; and hazardous materials that can be successfully recovered and recycled for non-military use.

Familiarity and experience in completing Form DD 250, Material Inspection and Receiving Report.

Knowledge of metallic scrap and packaging/packing material generated by the demilitarization process and offered for resale.

QUALIFICATIONS - SKILLS REQUIREMENTS – EXPERIENCE LEVEL (ADDITIONAL NOTES):

  • U.S. citizen

E* *DUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS / EXPEREINCE / ABILITIES :

  • High school diploma

EXPERIENCE

  • 3-years’ demonstrated demil experience ideally at HWAD
  • Well-organized, results-oriented, energetic, team player with proven decision making ability
