Description:Systems experienced professional in FBM Trident Navigation, specifically the CLB & UKD SWS NAV Program. Navigation Subsystem knowledge of D5 Backfit and INC4 highly required specifically supporting Trident SSBN Navigation Subsystem operability/fleet training, hardware/software validations, 2nd Level and contractor performed procedures and activities at Shipyard ERO and SSBN Refit/Trainer sites. Responsible for development of procedures, new technology integrations supporting these efforts and future subsystem upgrades (INC4, INC8, SSBN-R).
Basic Qualifications:
Detailed technical comprehension in the Trident Navigation Subsystem for CLB/UKD, SSI-4, SSI-8, as well as all coordinated interfaces associated with the Navigation Subsystem. Certified with Navigation Critical Skills fiber and copper cable training. Demonstrated ability to understand Navigation Subsystem operations and maintenance doctrine and electronic / mechanical drawings and schematics. Ability to understand Navigation Subsystem design and test documentation and recommend corrections and improvements as required. Ability to provide technical training to LM personnel in areas of shipyard and forward site Navigation Subsystem integration. Ability to work with senior civilian and civil servant contractors, subcontractor and military personnel to resolve Trident SSBN Navigation Subsystem technical issues. Good PC skills particularly with Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook). Excellent verbal and written skills.
Desired Skills:
Highly desirable that the candidate have minimum of 3 yrs working experience in Field Engineering with D5 Backfit/INC4 FBM Trident Operability, Maintenance and Validation processes and procedures. Experience in the INC4, INC8 and SSBN-R program development especially regarding the INC4/INC8 implementation and equipment integration on board the forward site trainers and SSBNs. Ability to work with the Fleet Support Operability Group and Technical Documentation Group (TDG) personnel in the development of the INC4, INC8 and SSBN-R shipyard procedures. Ability to travel to both international and domestic sites to support all incremental installations at refit and shipyard sites. Ability to deploy and support navigation testing on SSBNs and the USNS Waters.
