The Payload Launch Site Support Services (PLSSS) program provides launch processing support for the Office of Space Launch (OSL). The program’s two primary operating locations are Vandenberg AFB, CA and Cape Canaveral AFS, FL. Key elements of the PLSSS program include satellite launch processing, satellite transport operations, satellite propellant loading operations, operation and maintenance of satellite processing facilities, clean room operations, and safety and environmental services.

Summary of Key Duties for this position:
• You will be called upon to apply Electrical Engineering rigor to the design, maintenance, and operations of electrical power systems at various facilities at Vandenberg AFB.
• You will draw upon your knowledge of power distribution, power monitoring, lighting, back-up generators, and uninterruptible power supplies to keep these facilities operationally ready to support launch processing and mission activity.
• You will design power and control systems, manage the installation and commissioning of new electrical systems, write operating and maintenance procedures, and will be responsible for troubleshooting and verification testing.
• You will work alongside the industry’s most talented mechanical, civil, and electrical engineers. The ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams is essential.

You will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for an elevated clearance and access to classified information.

Basic Qualifications:
• Knowledge of electrical power and distribution systems.
• Experience working in a team environment with teammates, suppliers, vendors, and government customers.
• Must be a US citizen, will be subject to a government security investigation, and must meet eligibility requirements for an elevated clearance for access to classified information.
Desired Skills:
• Design and troubleshooting experience with 480V power systems, switchgears, motor control centers, transformers, variable frequency drives, automatic transfer switches, uninterrupted power supplies, and standby generators.
• Experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) as an analysis participant or facilitator.
• Knowledge/familiarity of fire alarm systems.
• Knowledge/familiarity of SKM software.
• California Electrical Engineering Professional Engineer (PE) License.
• Demonstrated ability to perform independently.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Possession of an active TS/SCI clearance.
• Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
