Job Summary

AECOM is hiring an experienced Operations Manager to work with our Federal Construction Services business group.

This position has overall supervisory responsibility for all business unit operations and travel is expected to AECOM offices and project site locations. This position can be located in Arlington, VA or Greenwood Village, CO or Morrisville, NC.

Responsibilities included but not limited too:

  • Manage the technical practice, project performance, and operational management of all areas and offices of a busy Federal CS business group.

  • Determines and executes the strategic direction to ensure growth and financial profitability.

  • Ensures the overall management of the district, and oversees multiple disciplines/practices/business lines within the district.

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management to a business unit that mirrors the mission and core values of the company.

  • Responsible for driving the company to achieve and surpass profitability and business goals and objectives.

  • Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of all processes internal and external.

  • Provides timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the company.

  • Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes established with the business unit general manager.

  • Collaborate with the business unit team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of our organization.

  • Motivate and lead a high performance management team; attract, recruit and retain required members of the management team not currently in place; provide mentoring as a cornerstone to the management career development program.

  • Act as lead client contact through direct contact with every client and partner.

  • Assist, as required, in raising additional financial success capital to meet revenue, growth, and market share objectives.

  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the business unit.

  • Represent the firm with clients and business partners

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + EXTENSIVE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 6 years of leadership.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related field.

  • At least ten years of strong operational experience.

  • Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen

  • Top Secret Security Clearance is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least five years in a senior management role.

  • Demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis with previous experience overseeing human resources, information technology, and legal.

  • Skilled in organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning.

  • Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team.

  • Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to corporate mission.

  • Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems.
