Primary internal customer representative designated to provide assistance relating to material management. Works as logistics liaison for lifecycle management of material from acquisition through disposition utilizing database functionality and historical information. Reviews and verifies information on work authorizations to ensure that customer orders are processed, manufactured and shipped in accordance with customer shipping schedules meeting inventory accuracy and timeline objectives. Collaborates with internal departments to expedite processing.
Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:
Works as a member of a team; Communicates effectively, assists team to complete daily task requirements to achieve overall goals; Work with production planning, production, quality, warehouse and shipping associates in a professional manner to get all work completed.
Maintains inventory/logistics procedures to insure compliance to internal and contractual requirements
Collaborates with various departments to manage efficient flow of all materials;Coordinates with all department personnel to ensure accountability for all assigned equipment
Cradle to grave data entry of all material records; Compiles and maintains manual or computerized records, such as material inventory, work authorization documentation, and status and location of materials
Maintains historical files; Maintains complete and accurate property and accounting records managing full lifecycle support of all Government property
Provides reports on material stockage levels, historical usage and shipment information
Performs packing and shipping functions and generates supporting shipping documentation
Primary contact responsible for unloading of inbound freight on trucks and containers. Verify and sign off bill of ladings.
Performs inventory transactions to receive, transfer or issue material in a timely fashion to assure expedited put away.
Clearly labels in coming materials and works with Quality personnel to assure priorities and inspections occur prior to shipment or put away
Manages locations and stocking areas to assure proper labeling, locations to put away are available in the system.
Responsible for material put away into designated locations whether coming from receiving or production area. Assure adequate space and locations are available.
Conducts cycle counts and annual inventory/reconciliation
Investigates inventory discrepancies and reports to appropriate responsible person for correction.
Maintains a clean, safe and orderly work environment.
Verify all paperwork is completed in a timely and accurately manner.
Performs Receiving Inspection by matching part numbers and quantities of inbound product to packing list
Monitors maintenance of material handling equipment
Follows all safety rules and regulations.
Completes other tasks as directed by Supervisor.
High School graduate, or equivalent, must have excellent writing and verbal communication skills, Microsoft office and keyboarding. Four or more years’ experience in material management
Experience in document control, inventory, material picking, packing/shipping, storage, receiving and ERP.
Production and Processing - Knowledge of property management processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective storage and distribution of goods.
Certified or capable of being certified in the use and operation of a forklift and other material-handling equipment.
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and climb stock ladders
Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems with strong problem-solving skills
Government property experience
NPMA Certification desired
Strong organizational and communication skills and attention to detail
