Job Summary

AECOM has an excellent opportunity for a

Materials Management Specialist on our CFOAM contract in Fort Belvoir VA. The Materials Management Specialist has the following duties/responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities necessary to deliver facilities-related and mission support-related materials, supplies and equipment for customer supported sites.

  • Ensure that all services are delivered and all tasks are performed within established program guidelines.

  • Assist in the identification of process improvements and cost-saving initiatives associated with the program.

  • Interface with clients, departments, contractors and community to resolve problems.

  • Participate in staff training in the Logistics functional area.

  • Keep immediate supervisor informed of situation beyond the individual’s control of authority.

  • Assist with physical inventory of facility-related materials.

  • Verify materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages; routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Familiarity with basic business practices associated with warehouse operations.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in an uncertain work environment.

  • Ability to interact with users, ability to listen, comprehend, interpret, articulate and define solutions as well as the ability to accurately document design information.

  • Solid technical, organization, interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of computer systems and their applications.

  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work as part of a larger team.

  • Forward thinking and displays initiative.

  • Ability to work under pressure.

  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and deadlines and respond to changing demands.

  • Ability to independently address assignments with minimal or no supervision.

  • Experience providing high quality customer service.

  • Familiarity with Systems Applications and Products (SAP).

  • Familiarity with the IC culture is desired.

  • Ability to operate hand or powered material handling equipment and light trucks.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must possess a current TS/SCI and Polygraph walking in the door.

  • A minimum of two (2) years' work experience is required.

  • Must have a valid state driver’s license and be able to drive a 1 ½ ton box or stack truck.

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds without help.

  • Must be insurable by the company to operate vehicles

  • Some positions may require a CDL.

  • Must be able to work a regularly scheduled 8 hour shift that will be between 06:00 and 16:30 hours daily, Monday through Friday.
