The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
Performing geotechnical tasks and working closely with other disciplines to meet the project needs
Oversight of a variety of subsurface investigation programs.
Adhere to AECOM safety culture and maintaining safe work environment
Assigning geotechnical laboratory testing
Performing design calculations for pavements, shallow and deep foundation, tunnel components, and retaining walls, temporary and permanent support of excavation, settlement analysis, ground improvement analyses, slope stability analyses, seepage analyses,
Prepare of engineering reports
Performing construction oversight
Potential for international travel

B.S. in Geotechnical Engineering
Thorough understanding of the concepts of soil mechanics
Experience with pavement design, shallow and deep foundations, slope stability
Experience with gINT, Geostudio and pavement design software
A minimum of 0-2 years of demonstrated experience in the field and office.
Ability to work in inclement weather
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Valid Driver’s license
M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering
Knowledge of geology within Virginia, Maryland and District of Columbia
Experience in monitoring fill placement, pile driving and general geotechnical construction
Demonstrated hands-on experience of conducting large scale subsurface investigations using various drilling methodologies.
Experience with geotechnical laboratory testing.
Experience with installation and monitoring of instrumentation
Experience with technical report writing
Strong written and oral communication, quantitative and interpersonal skills
