ABOUT THIS POSITION

KBR is seeking a talented Subject Matter Expert (Satellite Subsystem Specialist) who has spacecraft subsystem knowledge across a variety of satellite subsystems and platforms including but not limited to Attitude Control, Power, Thermal, TT&C and Payload.

Specific responsibilities include:

Monitor the performance of, and maintain, the health and welfare of satellite subsystems.
Perform and evaluate satellite station keeping maneuvers and special operations.
Support of the development and integration of the associated TT&C ground system.
Support, and participate in, the development of automation processes for real-time contacts.
Anomaly resolution support during satellite failures and ground system failures.

Required Skills:

Understanding of spacecraft subsystems, satellite communication systems, spacecraft operations, and ground control systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Work autonomously and perform self-directed efforts.
Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.
Clearance: Active DoD TS with SCI eligibility.

Required Experience:

Bachelorâ??s Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or similar engineering field) or directly applicable equivalent work experience.
Operations of satellite command and control systems.
Experience in TT&C of Air Force, other military, NASA or commercial satellites.
Experience as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) or Subsystems Specialist on Air Force, other military, NASA or commercial satellites.
Experience resolving satellite and ground station anomalies.
Experience supporting development of satellite ground systems.
Experience with Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN) or equivalent
5-10 yearsâ?? experience working at a satellite command and control facility.
Active TS with SCI eligibility is required to be considered for this position.

Demonstrated leadership accomplishments professionally and personally.
Proactivity in identifying and addressing challenges to include innovations that result in positive organizational impact.
Ability to script in PERL, C# or other scripting languages
C, C++ or related programming experience
