Currently, ManTech is seeking a self-starter, motivated, career and customer-oriented Vulnerability Security Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA or Chantilly, VA to provide unparalleled support to our customer and to begin an exciting and rewarding career within ManTech.  We are looking for a technical Cybersecurity professional that can continue to grow in knowledge and experience along with our growing enterprise team of 11 IT professionals.  The Vulnerability Security Engineer oversees and implements the proper remediation of vulnerabilities and patch management which direct the mitigation of identified hardware and software vulnerabilities which is critical to maintaining the integrity of the information system. Reports on patching efforts in accordance and provides a Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) when those dates are not met.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Experience with ACAS/NESSUS or Vulnerability Analysis scanning
  • Scripting experience to assist automating vulnerability remediation
  • Engineering requirements utilizing some of all of the following tools: HBSS, Splunk, WSUS and Vulnerability Assessment Tools
  • Engineering expertise to optimize enterprise protection posture
  • Recommend and participate in activities that prevent repeated vulnerability attacks and resolve issues as they arise
  • Provide and participate in A&A support for projects and technical exchange meetings
  • DISA STIG experience
  • Experience with technologies such as Server 2016, SQL 2016, Windows 10, Vmware 6.x, Cisco, ACAS, Splunk


Position requirements:

  • DoD 8570 qualified; minimum IAT Level 2
  • DoD 8570 Computing Environment Microsoft or VMware certification within 6 months of hire
  • Requires Bachelor’s degree in (Computer Science, Math or Engineering) or equivalent and 7- 9 years of related experience
  • VMware 6+ experience
  • PowerShell scripting experience
  • Desired MCSA or equivalent
  • Desired NIST 800-53 series experience
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Must be open to up to 5% annual travel
  • Possess a high degree of initiative requiring minimal supervision


Clearance requirements:

US Citizenship and active Secret clearance for San Diego, CA or Top Secret for Chantilly, VA
