The Role

We are seeking an experienced Systems/Integration Engineer to help guide the introduction and implementation of cutting edge protected communications equipment and technologies that will provide a decisive edge for our troops in the field and for the coordination of Air, Land and Maritime forces.

The Systems Engineer will coordinate integration requirements across a wide range of platform owners, ensure compliance with engineering program requirements and lead the development of sustainment solutions. The work will cover capability development, acquisition and sustainment phases of the project, and will therefore enable the successful applicant to exercise a wide range of skills through time.


  • Monitoring and advising on system design and development and Systems Engineering related progress for the achievement of the Gate 2 documentation
  • Oversee the development of systems integration for the associated Air and Maritime platforms
  • Engineering guidance, mentoring and/or advice for program personnel
  • Lead and/or participate in engineering related system and progress reviews
  • Review and comment on technical documentation such as OCD, FPS, SEMP, TEMP and System Safety Plans


  • Bachelor of Engineering or related technical qualification required
  • 5 - 8 years’ experience in Systems Engineering
  • Systems engineering experience within an Australian Defence environment
  • Working knowledge of the Department of Defence Capability Life Cycle – desirable
  • Experience in systems integration in to Air and Maritime platforms – desirable

Mandatory Requirement

Australian Citizenship with current or previous AGSVA Security Clearance at NV1 or higher
