Evening and weekend work maybe required. Must be able to read maps accurately and use technology to plan most efficient route. Expected to update dispatch on status of travel. May transport individuals or groups and expected to display a professional attitude towards customers and other drivers. Need to be comfortable with city and highway driving. Candidate must demonstrate good judgment in order to respond appropriately to suddenly appearing hazards or route changes. Must become proficient in operating telephone and two-way radio. Requires basic knowledge of automotive maintenance. Conduct daily checks of vehicles fluids and operational elements. Ensure vehicle cleanliness is maintained at all times. Will ensure all safety features are in working order. Report an issues or required maintenance to motor pool mechanics for action and inform management of that tasking. Document passenger details(like/dislikes). Ability to mentor new drivers. Assist dispatch occasionally with answering phones. Must have a "P" Passenger endorsement. Must have a clean driving record and familiarity with wheelchair lifts in vehicles and/or willingness to learn.
