Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking an Integrated Class Maintenance Plan (ICMP) Manager and Assistant Assessment Director (AD) to support SWRMC Code 211. The position is located at SWRMC in San Diego, CA.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Prepare for assessments onboard Navy surface ships and submarines by collating data from the ICMP, and helping to develop assessment test plans.

  • Assist with resource provision to execute assessments.

  • Analyze metrics and develop new metrics to support maintenance and maintainability improvement initiatives.

  • Assist the AD in devising, implementing, and maintaining standardized engineering approaches for pre- and post-overhaul equipment and system testing plans, procedures, and assessment programs.

  • Assist the AD in managing and coordinating assessment programs.

  • Review repair and modernization advance planning procedures.

  • Develop statistical documentation and perform engineering studies for maintenance, engineering issues and assessment programs for a combination of equipment, systems, ships and ship classes.

  • Provide engineering solutions to specific shipboard equipment problems when required.

  • Develop and/or utilize automated data systems to manage Fleet assessment support.

  • Assist the AD to coordinate assessments and expert diagnostics to shipboard equipment and system malfunctions on active ships pier side and underway for the purpose of finding root cause and best course of action to restore to full operational condition.

  • Develop root cause analysis and recommended action reports.

  • Act as an advisor to these other commands and Naval ships on matters pertaining to ship availability advance planning, assessments, and program management techniques including operation, test, repair, and maintenance engineering.

  • If candidate is a top performer once in the job, may be selected to pursue qualification as an Assessment Director, with increased scope of responsibilities and associated opportunities for advancement after one year.

  • Complete all other position related duties as requested or assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least nine (9) years of technical experience.

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills; must have keen project management skills.

  • Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.

  • Position will require travel.

  • Candidate must to able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as engineers or technicians serving in the U.S. Navy at the E-6 or above level; prior experience with assessment teams, or project management preferred.
