Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a

Department Manager or Senior Project Manager with 15 or more years of experience in Potable Water to be located in the Stevens Point, Wisconsin office. The department / senior project manager will join our expanding Water Department (currently 13 people) that focuses primarily on drinking water system planning and design. This position also includes client management and project sales.

Assignments will include various studies and designs associated with public drinking water systems.

Project management responsibilities include project financial management, proposal preparation, managing project team members and ensuring that products are delivered on time, within agreed upon budgets and to the client’s satisfaction. This position may include management the Stevens Point Water Department. This person will be responsible for quality control standard compliance and to ensure that project staff follow corporate safety guidelines.

This person will manage several projects at any one time and will have project teams consisting of one to several staff. Project team members will include technical specialists that address the technical needs of the projects.

This person will be responsible for a wide variety of projects, possibly including water system master plans, hydraulic distribution system modeling, water audits, water quality studies, disinfection, water supply sustainability, water systems design( treatment plants, pump stations, etc.), energy evaluations, water main replacement analysis, water vulnerability and emergency response, and Safe Drinking Water Program audits.

AECOM will also look for this person to develop client relationships with local municipalities and to subsequently manage water system related projects for these clients.

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Supervisory, managerial, developmental and leadership skills to concurrently manage multiple projects, and technical staff with in the potable water department.

  • Supervise the work of multiple technical disciplines with a broad general knowledge of many aspects of potable water engineering for municipal and industrial market sectors.

  • Finds, pursues and wins long-term, opportunities by networking with clients as well as within the potable water industry to develop business relationships

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + 10 YORE or AA/AS (US) + 12 YORE or Diploma/Certificate (Canada) + 12 YORE or HS/GED + 14 YORE

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering degree

  • 15+ years of experience in civil engineering

  • Previous master planning experience

  • Experience with developing proposals, schedules, and budgets

  • Interest and demonstrated skills in marketing, presentations and client interaction

  • Professional Engineer License (P.E.)

  • Due to the nature of this position, US Citizenship is required

  • Master's Degree preferred

  • Previous pressure pipe hydraulic modeling experience (preferred)

  • Professional Engineer in WI
