The Tactical Communication Systems (TCS) Department within the Space and Airborne Systems Engineering Center (SEC) is involved in all aspects of Systems Design and Integration, Verification, and Validation (IV&V) for the Tactical Communication Systems business area. This team, based at Aberdeen Proving Ground, is responsible for supporting system level integration and qualification for combat Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) solutions for air defense, air control, and self-protection missions in airborne and ground applications.

JOB SUMMARY

We have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Systems Engineer with a software background to join our dynamic, diverse, and rapidly growing team. The engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and integration of software solutions utilizing test system hardware for test applications. Solutions include engineering lab software, production/factory test modules, and test database applications. General supervision is received from a designated supervisor. Guidance received relates primarily to general objectives and details of unusual situations and /or requirements. May provide functional guidance to less experienced test engineers or exercise occasional functional supervision over technicians and clerical assistants.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience of systems integration or test engineering
  • Experience with NI development suite (LabVIEW, Test Stand)
  • U.S. Citizenship status is needed as this position requires the ability to obtain and maintain US DoD Secret Security Clearance within one year of start date

  • Experience with Configuration Management tools
  • Experience with Software Process
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications
  • Working experience with the development of Military equipment
  • Past experience with production and sustainment programs
  • Must have excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation} and be able to effectively communicate with IPT leaders, hardware and software development engineers, specialty engineers, program managers, and customer representatives
  • Strong team building, leadership and motivational skills
  • Active Secret Clearance
Required Education
  • Bachelor’s (BS) Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited institution (i.e. Software / Electrical / Mechanical / Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, etc.)
Desired Education
  • Masters’ (MS) Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited institution (i.e. Software / Electrical / Mechanical / Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, etc.)

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position requires the ability to obtain a secret U.S. Security Clearance within one year of start date.
