Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a Project Controls and Procurement Specialist to be based out of our Client’s office, to support their Corporate Services and Real Estate division in the procurement and financial control of workplace and infrastructure projects, by providing the services listed below. Projects range in size and value from $50k to several $million and is comprised of moves, alterations and changes to the Client’s real estate portfolio across the Americas.

The ideal candidate will have a broad technical knowledge but possess an area of specialization or focus, specifically in Procurement and Project Controls, and be able to develop and formulate solutions to client problems on assigned projects.

Specific duties:


  • Prepare and issue Request for Information / Requests for Qualification / Requests for Proposal

  • Use Client’s proprietary software to undertake procurement of projects

  • Respond to vendor queries

  • Level and analyze bids and issue analysis report and recommendation

  • Prepare Purchase Orders / Letter Agreements / Contracts for all appointments (consultants / contractors / direct vendors)

Project Controls

  • Measure / take-off quantities and estimate cost of construction change orders

  • Prepare monthly financial reports

  • Review and advise on uncommitted balances

  • Review and advise on contingency balances

  • Review vendor invoices / applications for payment

  • Read the change control process

  • Project financial close-out

  • Use client specific software to cost manage projects

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS degree and two years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education

  • Ability to work under own initiative and unsupervised, but also as part of a team

  • Impeccable verbal, written and numeracy skills in a client facing capacity

  • Knowledge of interior office construction technology

  • Due to the nature of this work, qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction discipline

  • Masters degree in Construction Management or Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
