The Identification, Friend or Foe (IFF) product line within Tactical Communication Systems (TCS) and the Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) business within Raytheon designs and develops avionic communication equipment for the US military and various international customers. This team is based in Aberdeen, Maryland and supports all aspects of the engineering life cycle of our communication equipment including support in the transition to production and sustainment of production.
We have an immediate opportunity for an Electronics Technician (Technical Support Associate Senior) to join our dynamic, diverse, and rapidly growing team. This technician will provide support to multiple programs in the IFF business areas.
Fabricate digital and RF assemblies within the design and test environments.
Test, troubleshoot, and repair a wide variety of digital and RF electronic circuit card assemblies and electronic systems and/or equipment
Fabricate test racks and test fixtures in the test environments including debug and repair.
Fabricate wire harnesses and RF coaxial cables including debug and repair.
Performs a wide variety of technical tasks in support of processes, engineering, and calibration, in the engineering and test environment.
Provide program support at Raytheon off-site locations and supplier locations.
Set-up and operate engineering test equipment in a design and test environment.
Observe, analyze and report test data.
Utilize engineering drawings, manuals, parts lists, and other related documentation in the performance of their tasks.
Minimum of 4 years of experience as an electronics technician or technical support, fabrication, assembly, repair, and/or engineering role
Minimum of 1 year of experience as an electronic technician (may include internships)
Willing to be IPC J-STD-001 certified and possesses ability to pass a solder proficiency test
Understanding of electrical and mechanical drawings (schematics, assembly drawings and parts list/BOMs).
U.S. Citizenship status is needed as this position requires the ability to obtain US DoD Secret Security Clearance within one year of start date
Must be able to travel and support offsite test activities
Possess a DoD Secret security clearance
Possess hands-on knowledge and experience with the electrical and assemblies.
Possess the communication skills necessary to accurately communicate redesign, repair or other technical changes.
Two years of demonstrated experience as an electronic technician.
Positive attitude and capable of working in an environment that often has frequently changing task priorities and time related commitments.
Experience using standard and specialized test equipment and unit under test reconfiguration to support integration and qualification activities.
Fundamental use of computer test software and test equipment
Understanding and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
Required Education High school, secondary school or equivalent with 4 years of experience.
Graduate of a technical trade school with an emphasis and experience in machine shop principles and mechanical assembly of small hardware.
