Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an Environmental Analytical Chemist for immediate employment in our Newark, Delaware office. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Working with project teams to establish scope of analytical requirements, data quality objectives and analytical delivery schedules.

  • Placing analytical orders with directed and/or client approved laboratories.

  • Coordinating work between field and laboratories and provide support to field sampling teams.

  • Monitoring progress of analyses against project delivery due dates and provide updates to project team as necessary.

  • Obtaining analytical cost quotations from specialty analytical laboratories, and set up and monitor purchase orders and agreements for non-routine analytical services.

  • Resolving errors with Electronic Data Deliverables (lab and user generated).

  • Understanding and assigning QC partners.

  • Verification and checking verification settings and select verification options set for automated data validation.

  • Add any missing settings to the verification option set.

  • Run the Data Validation Module (DVM).

  • QA review of DVM output against the lab report.

  • Manual QC review.

  • Usability reviews.

  • Develop data summary reports, which include the cover memo, DVM output, and lab report(s).

  • Assembling the deliverable (pdf).

  • Post the deliverable to the project consultant.

  • Review, approve, and track laboratory invoices in accordance with Corteva requirements.

  • Verify receipt of services.

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS in Chemistry plus years of relevant experience and/or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with PFAS related projects.
