The Role

KBR is currently seeking applications from experienced and enthusiastic individuals looking to further their career in the change, communications and training sector.

This is an ongoing position, located in Canberra and is ideally suited to recent graduates, or those looking to gain experience in a communications role.

Working to a senior Communications Specialist, who will direct your day to day work activities, you will be an autonomous, self-starter, who is willing to learn and grow in the role, within a large OCM team with our clients.

Working to strict timelines, you will need to rapidly integrate into the existing team and start producing high quality products in a short period of time.


The successful candidate will be able to:

  • work, as directed and as part of a larger team, to develop a range of communications items such as emails, presentations, newsletters, social media posts;
  • engage/consult with key stakeholders and utilise subject matter expertise to develop communication items/materials;
  • manage content and review cycles with stakeholders and subject matter experts;
  • conduct quality assurance reviews;
  • coordinate and facilitate meetings and/or workshops with clients and subject matter experts; and
  • liaise with clients to ensure deliverables meet their needs and are fit for purpose.


Candidates must have Australian Citizenship and either hold, or be able to obtain, an Australian Defence Security Clearance.

To be invited to interview, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • a well-developed knowledge of contemporary communications methods and media;
  • strong interpersonal skills;
  • the ability to work autonomously with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams; and
  • well-developed verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

Candidates who can also demonstrate the following attributes will be viewed favorably:

  • experience in the design, development and delivery of tactical communications products, an awareness of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (HR, Finance, etc.); or
  • experience working with/in government and/or Defence.
