As an integral member of our Maintenance Flight leadership team, this FAB-T Leader guides and oversees the operations and maintenance of a 24x7x365 work center in support of the NISSC team, the 21st Communications Squadron (21CS) and other customers and tenants in Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station (CMAFS). Additionally you will lead a multi-functional team providing support to the NORAD/Northcom and DoD customers at Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station. The FAB-T Lead technical, operational, and functional tasks spectrum includes performing Tier II operations and maintenance (O&M) tasks in support of Family of Advanced Beyond Line-of-Sight Terminal (FAB-T)

Responsibilities:

  • Functional/operational supervision of the Station Manager
  • Performs Operations and Maintenance on FAB-T equipment to include replacement of circuit cards or major subassemblies
  • Submits, manages, processes, and resolves Tier II tickets
  • Performs Tier II operations and maintenance (O&M) tasks on all FAB-T systems and subsystems located at Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station with a thorough understanding in below functional areas
  • Frequency Division Multiple Access
  • Satellite tracking, Antenna drive and servo systems
  • Spectral analysis using a spectrum analyzer
  • Perform component level work (down to the lowest replaceable unit (LRU) as necessary
  • Perform all operations and maintenance actions (O&M) IAW all Technical Manuals
  • Perform Crypto device updates and perform CRO duties
  • Maintain Test Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE)

This is a Mission Essential position. The FAB-T leader must be able and willing to work flexible hours, typically during the Monday through Friday work week but occasionally nights and weekends as well. The FAB-T leader must be prepared for and be able to report to work and remain on site for extended periods of time during exercises, real world situations, and emergencies. During such periods all FAB-T members may be unable to maintain contact with anyone outside the work site, including family and friends. All leaders and team members must sign a letter of commitment acknowledging and agreeing to this requirement.

Required Skills:
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI
  • Experience resolving high level problems to include recommending and implementing alternative set-up and/or operations of complex systems
  • CompTIA Security +
  • Experience with loading Cryptographic equipment
  • Experience managing multiple projects and tasks
  • Experience providing incident and after action reports and analysis

Desired Skills:
  • Advanced SATCOM Courses
  • Fundamentals of UNIX/LINUX
  • Milstar experience

Required Education (including Major):
  • Must have 8 or more years of directly related experience with a BS/BA in STEM or related field of study. Alternatively must have the equivalent in combined education and technical experience.
