Job Summary

This position will support the chemical demilitarization projects located in Richmond, KY and Pueblo, CO. Relocation benefits may be offered in lieu of a Telework Assignment.


  • Perform all work safely and with utmost concern for safety of self and other employees.

  • Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations.

  • Manage the risk management process for the chemical demilitarization Projects.

  • Develop risk management approaches (threat mitigation or opportunity capture approaches) with the support of the Project management.

  • Interface with various program or site risk management teams to facilitate the analysis of the risk mitigation or opportunity capture.

  • Manage risk to the Project schedule.

  • Analyze impacts to Project performance as a result of challenges, improvements, management changes and outside influences.

  • Communicate frequently with the risk management in support of project management.

  • Be able to understand regulations, directives, and technical data packages, i.e., SOPs, ECPs, RFIs, in order to determine actions required to meet production requirements, schedules, and risks.

  • Assess performance of project schedule performance against overall Chemical Demilitarization goals.

  • Participate in planning activities with Government representatives to maintain effective operation of the chemical demilitarization facilities.

  • Coordinate plans and program requirements with Government and other organizations as required.

  • Maintain cognizance of the Life Cycle project schedule.

  • Provide guidance to management on risk-based decisions.

  • Identify tasks and risk issues to management for potential schedule and cost analysis.

Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related field.

  • Minimum 12 years professional experience in industrial processing plants (chemical, petrochemical, petroleum or hazardous waste incinerator) or power plants (nuclear or fossil).

  • Experience in toxic and hazardous materials environment required.

  • Basic understanding of the development and use of project schedules cost estimating and resource allocation, Project Controls and Earned Value Management System, and cost/schedule risk assessment and mitigation.

  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly create professional documents in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • Significant experience at managing project cost and schedules for large projects or multiple smaller projects preferred.

  • Basic knowledge and experience of construction methods, engineering, equipment, materials, contract, administration, subcontractor management, claim negotiations, labor relations, finance, the development and maintenance of client and competition contacts, plus experience with market development work and business proposals preferred.

  • Experience with Government contracts desired.
