CSI provides Operations and Maintenance support for the Intelligence Community
We are currently seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer I with a current TS/SCI security clearance w/CI poly for satellite Operations and Maintenance (O&M) positions. The selected candidate(s) will join a skilled O&M team working in a 24/7 operations environment. The O&M team is responsible for all aspects of Operations Planning and Command and Control, including monitoring day-to-day activities as well as identifying and solving challenging problems as they occur. After completion of comprehensive on-the-job training, the candidate(s) will be part of a certified team of subject matter experts that are integral to our customer's success.
•Build and/or execute a daily operations plan using complex software and hardware systems
•Obtain/maintain technical knowledge of a large repository of formal procedures with the responsibility to accurately select and apply the correct procedure(s) depending on the specific scenario at hand
•Obtain/apply technical knowledge on various hardware subsystems
•Document discrepancies as they occur. Implement workarounds and contingency plans to minimize impacts of system anomalies
•Contribute to the testing, readiness, training, and implementation of new ground software deliveries
•Cross-train in other operator positions as assigned and assist with training of other personnel on the contract team
•Work in a dynamic small team environment (3-7 people)
•Operational document management
•Manage and oversee documentation and implementation of certification training program
•Support test activities as necessary
•Assess, document, and submit contract team impacts to planned activities documented in change documentation
•Provide weekly customer briefings
•Other duties as assigned
•Must hold a current TS/SCI security clearance and must obtain an adjudicated CI poly before starting work
•This position is in support of an integral 24/7 Operations environment. As such:
•Availability for non-scheduled call-in is required
•The job assignment requires working a combination of daystaff and shift schedules based on the dynamic needs of the team
•Availability to work overtime is required
•Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal
•Must have proven experience performing work successfully in a collaborative environment with other organizational domains
•Must have demonstrated experience with executing assigned tasks to meet technical objectives
•Experience working a rotating shift schedule
•Experience giving and receiving training to/from a wide range of learning/teaching styles
•Experience working in a virtual team environment
•Experience using both Windows and UNIX platforms
•Experience with Perl, VBA, or other scripting languages
•Experience using the Microsoft Office suite
Required Education (including Major):
Must have a BS/BA (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 4 years of related work experience; or an MS/MA (STEM) with a minimum of 2 years of related work experience.
