Technical Support Engineer I
Precision Manufacturing is a leader in high precision mechanical product manufacturing. The business achieved over $300M of revenue in 2018 with around 520 employees and consists of multiple sites in the Dallas area. Our facility is experiencing growth with primary focus in the defense and aerospace markets.
Reporting to a Precision Manufacturing Rapid Response Manager at the McKinney site, the Technical Support Engineer I will be responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing process plans for complex high precision metal parts and assemblies.
Job duties include:
Development of detailed manufacturing process plans that are cost effective and meet all quality requirements
Providing cost and time estimates for new product
Coordination of Non-Recurring Engineering efforts for new and historical products including NC programming, CMM programming, Tool Design, and Processing/Assembly instructions
Support resolving complex problems arising during the fabrication process. Includes investigation and recommendations for productivity enhancements
Utilize PRISM/APEX software to create manufacturing routings and work orders and monitor work flow
Identify and implementing opportunities for cost reduction by both process optimization and product design improvements
Day to day interaction with Raytheon employees including all levels of Precision Manufacturing management
Working safely every day and supporting efforts to maintain an injury free work place
Experience with numerical controlled (NC) 5-Axis horizontal and vertical metal machining processes
Experienced at interpreting geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) deigns and established manufacturing methods to produce conforming parts.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance within one year of start date
Experience with/knowledge of the following support functions: Methods or Manufacturing Planning, Tooling, NC/CMM Programming, and Quality Assurance
Experience with any of the following software systems/tools: Microsoft Project, PRISM, APEX, Pro-Engineer, GibbsCam, Siemens NX, PC-DMIS
The ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance
Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
Advanced experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with machinists, support groups, customers, and management.
Experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment supporting multiple priorities
Demonstrated problem solving ability in resolving complex problems arising during the fabrication process. Includes investigation and recommendations for productivity enhancements.
Demonstrated ability to work within budgets and schedules.
Required Education (including Major):
Bachelor’s Degree, related experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.
