Leidos’ Defense Systems is seeking a Quality Assurance Program Lead to join our team. In this role, you will work with mission-critical systems essential to national defense and national security priorities. This is a full-time, on-site position ideal for a detail-oriented QA professional who thrives in dynamic environments and is passionate about quality excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities.
• Apply proven knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001 aerospace quality management standards, configuration management, and corrective action systems
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications, purchase orders, Statements of Work (SOWs), CDRLs, and other contractual requirements
• Prepare, implement, and maintain a Quality Assurance Program Plan outlining processes, documentation, and inspection systems to ensure compliance with contract requirements
• Develop, complete, and submit First Article Inspection (FAIs) in accordance with AS9102
• Review drawings, certificates, characteristic results, specifications, and documentation for all FAIs to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Validate alignment between customer technical data packages and FAI packages
• Prepare, implement, and maintain a Quality Assurance Program Plan outlining processes, documentation, and inspection systems to ensure compliance with contract requirements
• Maintain close coordination with the Leidos site quality team to ensure consistent process control, product acceptance, and effective execution of corrective actions.
• Support process improvement initiatives and implement best practices
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and aerospace/defense manufacturing best practices
• Report regularly to Business Area leadership on inspection results, KPI performance, audit outcomes and quality improvement progress
• Other assignments that support quality efforts
Basic Qualifications.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with 4-8 years of relevant experience; Master’s degree with 2-2 years of relevant experience. Additional experience, training, and/or certifications may substitute for degree requirements.
• US Citizen; Currently possessing an Active DoD Secret clearance
• Proven knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001 aerospace quality management standards, configuration management, and corrective action systems
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies in documentation, specifications, and manufacturing processes
• In-depth knowledge of customer specifications, purchase orders, SOWs, CDRLs, and related requirements
• Demonstrated experience interpreting industry specifications (ASME, ASTM, SAE, etc.)
• Strong ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, technical data, and specifications
• Ability to work collaboratively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and related tools
Preferred Qualifications.
• Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate and advocate quality-related concepts
• Demonstrated knowledge with AS9102, AS9100, and other aerospace/defense quality standards
• Experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution System)
• Formal auditor training
• Experience in medium-volume/high-mix production environments
• Experience in both component fabrication and assembly/integration production environments
