Job Description Summary
The University of South Alabama’s Center for Educational Accessibility & Disability Resources is seeking to hire a Coordinator, Sensory Impaired Technology. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.
Essential Functions

These are the job duties required of the position.

Essential Functions
  • Develops tools and processes for evaluating technology assets, platforms, and services for their ability to comply with accessibility standards.
  • Manages all aspects of alternative format production and distribution of secure accessible formatted textbooks from publishers.
  • Serves as the point of contact for Accessible Information Management (AIM) system for students and faculty.
  • Trains students and faculty on use of AIM system.
  • Maintains the Center for Educational Accessibility and Disability Resources (CEADR) web page.
  • Works with Academic Computing to ensure 508 compliance.
  • Serves on the USAOnline Advisory Committee.
  • Provides accessible materials to blind/visually impaired and deaf/hearing impaired students.
  • Stays abreast of assistive technology hardware and software and creates documentation on products.
  • Manipulates scanned files using appropriate Optical Character Recognition (OCR) tools.
  • Manages a caseload of sensory impaired students.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required.
  • Related duties as required.
