Description
Leidos is seeking an e-Discovery Professional to support the Federal Aviation Administration. This position combines the duties and knowledge of an IT professional with the responsibilities and knowledge of a legal administrative support staff member. The e-Discovery professional will be responsible for organizing, assessing, managing, and maintaining electronic documents during the discovery process of an agency investigation or legal proceeding.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and apply the necessary methods and actions to obtain applicable electronically stored information (ESI) from various data sources using data archive and storage platforms
- Manage end-to-end eDiscovery processes, including data collection, processing, review, and production
- Ensure compliance with legal hold requirements and data preservation standards,
- Coordinate with legal counsel to develop discovery strategies and protocols
- Utilize eDiscovery platforms for data processing and document review
- Perform data culling, deduplication, and quality control checks in accordance with the EDRM framework and standards, ensuring that acceptable standards of quality are maintained
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to ESI and review platforms
- Maintain documentation of workflows and chain of custody throughout the eDiscovery lifecycle to include case planning, ESI collection, processing, analysis, and final delivery
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, compliance, and outside counsel
- Stay current with evolving eDiscovery technologies, case law, and best practices
- Train legal staff, management, and others to use FAA’s eDiscovery review platforms
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities of computer technologies to include an understanding of computer network architecture and familiarity with storage and archive techniques.
- Prepare reports detailing the results of document analysis ensuring accuracy and adequacy.
- Effectively communicate and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, to include legal staff, FOIA Officials, and management, conveying a clear and familiar understanding of legal and administrative requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in eDiscovery, litigation support, or digital forensics
- Hands-on experience with industry-standard tools such as Relativity, Nuix, or similar platforms
- Understanding of EDRM (Electronic Discovery Reference Model)
- Ability to train small groups on how to use a customer-facing tool.
- Proficient in documenting processes and policies.
- Familiarity with data formats, databases, and file systems
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Attention to detail and can complete assigned tasks independently
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
- Ability to obtain a Secret level Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Information Technology infrastructures including networks and other sources of data.
- Nuix Discover Certification, Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA) or similar certification
- Have proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining proper priorities and scheduling on extremely tight deadlines.
- Experience with scripting or automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA)
- Experience working with large, complex datasets
