This contract will provide occupational medicine health services and electronic health records management for sworn staff from both the City of Phoenix (City) Fire and Police Departments as well as public safety personnel assigned to other jurisdictions throughout the region who have contracted with Phoenix Fire Department Health and Wellness Center (PFDHWC) for these services.

Location: 50 S. 12th St., Phoenix, AZ 85034. 


PFDHWC Clinic hours: 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch period. 


Responsibilities: 

  • Acts as receptionist to include greeting and directing visitors/patients, answering incoming calls, which include screening      calls, taking messages and providing information to patients, providers, as well as external customers. 
  • Provides administrative support to include, composing correspondence, making copies, sending faxes, answering incoming calls, etc. 
  • Performs check-in processes, including but not limited to, performing data entry activities, providing patients with appropriate      information and documentation needed for appointments. 
  • Collects patient Health Review Form, verifies demographics and uploads into electronic medical record. 
  • Responsible for the scheduling of physical exams for PFD Rovers and Retirees. Corresponds and schedules outlying fire departments that have an active Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with the PFDHWC, as well as Phoenix Police Department specialty unit members.  Coordinating blood draws with all parties listed above.  
  • Tracks the outlying fire departments members physical exam for patient appointment compliance and corresponds with scheduling contacts.  
  • Inputs and maintains data in computer system, using discretion when data is confidential. May use various personal computer      software programs including, but not limited to, electronic medical records system, word processing, spreadsheets, etc. May      be required to produce reports for related studies, management, or clinic staff. 
  • Routinely checks fax machine and distributes accordingly. 
  • Coordinates patient appointments and provider schedules. 
  • Performs check-in processes, including but not limited to, performing data entry activities, providing patient with appropriate      information and documentation needed for appointments. 
  • Document’s correspondence in the patient medical record and updates demographic information into the Electronic Health Record. 
  • Assists with medical records requests and Worker’s Compensation injury processing as needed. 
  • Follows Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of      1996 (HIPAA) guidelines. 
  • Ensure required Worker’s Compensation forms for claim filing are completed at      check-in. 
Requirements:

   Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Five years of experience working in a medical front office or working performing patient intake for a medical facility. 
  • Must be able to use various personal computer software programs including, but not limited to, Outlook, electronic medical records system, and Microsoft Suite. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Previous experience working in an Occupational Health Clinic treating first responders. 

 

This job is CONTINGENT upon contract award, client approval, completion of a favorable background investigation, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust / High Risk clearance.
