Modeling and Simulation System Administrator

We are seeking an experienced IT professional to support modeling and simulation (M&S) based training for the Camp Pendleton Battle Simulation Center (BSC). This role blends systems administration, network engineering, and technical training support within USMC training environments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide systems administration and network engineering support for BSC simulation systems, including installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of modeling & simulation systems and associated workstations.
- Maintain and support UNIX and Windows based simulation environments used in classroom training and Combat Operations Center staff exercises.
- Support planning, integration, and operation of CIS systems across command, logistics, and tactical air command center environments during exercises.
- Install, configure, optimize, and maintain servers, routers, switches, and cross domain or multi enclave network solutions (e.g., firewalls, ACLs).
- Provide end user IT support for BSC systems, peripherals, and applications, including troubleshooting, configuration, and user assistance.
- Assist with exercise setup, database preparation, system configuration, and technical support throughout event execution—mirroring the exercise support structure of fires focused M&S positions.
- Research and recommend technology upgrades for audio visual systems, network infrastructure, and training support equipment.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum three years of IT experience, ideally supporting military networks.
- Must meet DoD Cyber Workforce IAT Level II (or higher) requirements and maintain all certifications required for privileged access to Marine Corps information technology and information systems through completion of required training and certification.
CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Familiarity with USMC cybersecurity policies, with the ability to administer enterprise networks securely.
- Strong understanding of networking, system administration, and cross domain network configurations.
- Experience supporting modeling & simulation systems preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work is conducted on site, in a government facility.
- Required to sit or stand for extended periods of time and maintain focus.
- May be required to lift, carry and move computer and associated equipment.
- Must be able to support irregular schedules to accommodate exercises, including nights, weekends, and extended shifts.
SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS
- Ability to work extended hours during training exercises.
- Valid driver's license required; must qualify as an authorized company driver.
- Daily local travel may be required.
- Occasional CONUS/OCONUS travel may be required.
SECURITY CLEARANCE
- A current NATO-Secret security clearance is required for this position.
ESTIMATED COMPENSATION
- $85,000–$105,000
