Description

SBG Technology Solutions, Inc. (SBG) is growing and looking for talented Systems Engineers at the Junior, Mid-Level, and Senior levels to join our team. These roles support the engineering, testing, production, and installation associated with the development, procurement, and fielding of U.S. Navy satellite, communications, and Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) systems.

Overview

These positions offer an opportunity to work on mission-critical systems supporting the Naval enterprise in a collaborative, engineering-focused environment.
The Systems Engineers will:

support a wide range of communications and GPS-based PNT systems across the Naval enterprise. Work activities may include:

  • Engineering Analysis

  • Cybersecurity

  • Test and Evaluation

  • Requirements Development and Analysis

  • Design, Development, and Integration

  • Architecture Development

  • System and Sustainment Engineering

  • Spectrum Management

  • Production Engineering

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the development, procurement, testing, integration, fielding, and sustainment of satellite and communications systems

  • Conducting systems and system-of-systems architecture design, implementation, integration, testing, review, and certification activities

  • Performing data analysis; interpreting and summarizing results

  • Developing technical documentation, including test plans, reports, specifications, and analyses

  • Participating in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Program Management Reviews (PMRs), and engineering working groups

  • Supporting life-cycle planning, risk assessments, trade studies, roadmaps, and Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs)

Junior Systems Engineer:

  • Perform assigned systems engineering tasks under the guidance of senior engineers

  • Assist with requirements definition, data analysis, testing, and documentation

  • Learn and apply systems engineering principles to satellite, communications, and GPS-based systems

  • Support Navy or DoD programs (experience helpful but not required)

Mid-Level Systems Engineer:

  • Provide systems engineering products and technical services across system development and integration efforts

  • Evaluate technical issues and ensure systems meet fleet and mission requirements

  • Contribute independently to architecture development, documentation, and engineering analyses

  • Support configuration management, spectrum planning, and integration tracking

Senior Systems Engineer:

  • Lead complex systems engineering efforts for Navy satellite, communications, and PNT systems

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight for architecture development, integration, and certification

  • Prepare and review high-level engineering artifacts, trade studies, risk assessments, and strategic roadmaps

  • May oversee or mentor junior and mid-level engineers and manage task-level execution

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

  • Must be able to pass a Federal background check

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment


Qualifications

Required (All Levels)

  • Active DoD Security Clearance

  • Experience or familiarity with U.S. Navy or DoD programs preferred

  • Understanding of SATCOM, communications systems, and/or GPS-based PNT architectures

  • Knowledge of system acquisition, integration planning, configuration management, and engineering documentation

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Ability to analyze data from multiple sources and draw meaningful conclusions

  • Experience with communications and computing architectures

  • Familiarity with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools and practices (mid/senior levels)

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Education:

Junior Level:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Operations Research, Mathematics, Physics, or Business Administration

Years of experience in a similar role:

  • OR equivalent experience may substitute:

    • Associate’s degree + 4 years of relevant experience

    • No degree + 6 years of relevant experience

Mid Level:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical or business discipline

Years of experience in a similar role:

  • Relevant experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree + 3 years

    • Associate’s degree + 7 years

    • No degree + 9 years

Senior Level:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline

Years of experience in a similar role:

  • Master’s degree + 10 years

  • Bachelor’s degree + 14 years
