IT MANAGER JOB SUMMARY
An experienced IT Manager to lead our IT operations across multiple California offices. This role is responsible for overseeing infrastructure, security, and end-user support while leading and mentoring a growing IT team.
The IT Manager will serve as both a technical leader and strategic partner to executive leadership ensuring our IT environment supports business growth, operational efficiency, and data security across our engineering and design teams.
This position balances hands-on technical oversight with leadership, vendor management, and long-term technology planning.
IT MANAGER JOB DUTIES
- Leads and mentors IT staff, providing guidance, support, and performance oversight.
- Oversees IT operations across multiple offices, ensuring systems are secure, stable, and scalable.
- Manages network infrastructure including LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, and cloud services.
- Administers Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra ID, Intune, and Active Directory environments.
- Develops and maintains cybersecurity practices, policies, and compliance standards.
- Oversees helpdesk operations to ensure timely and effective support across departments.
- Manages IT projects including system upgrades, hardware rollouts, and infrastructure improvements.
- Partners with leadership to align technology initiatives with business goals.
- Manages relationships with external vendors and oversee IT budgeting and licensing.
- Supports AEC software environments and network licensing systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent of 8 years of IT experience).
7+ years of progressive IT experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role. - Experience managing an IT function including budgets, strategic initiatives, and project management.
- Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra ID, Intune, Active Directory.
- Experience managing network infrastructure, firewalls, VPNs, and multi-site environments.
- Proven experience leading cybersecurity initiatives and compliance frameworks (CMMC preferred).
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical staff and executive leadership.
- Ability to travel between Southern and Central California offices (up to 20%).
Preferred Qualifications
- Azure certifications or Microsoft certifications
- Experience supporting Egnyte
- Experience managing hybrid cloud environments
- PowerShell scripting experience
- Experience scaling IT operations in a growing organization
- Prior experience in an AEC or professional services environment
