Position Summary: 


DwyerOmega is seeking a Production Supervisor to play a critical role within our Operations team at our Fluid Components International facility. This position is responsible for leading the day-to-day production line to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production of industrial assemblies. This role will require supervising employees, such as delegating tasks, keeping workers engaged, and managing any disciplinary actions or safety incidents. 


The ideal candidate is motivated to drive continuous improvements, and ensuring compliance within company quality standards, regulatory requirements, and delivery commitments. 


  

Essential Job Functions

  • Assign and prioritize daily work assignments and responsibilities for production team members to ensure operational goals, production schedules, and delivery commitments are met.
  • Maintain and update the department training matrix to ensure employee competency, cross-training, and compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Create, review, and manage departmental purchase orders to support timely procurement of materials, tools, and supplies.
  • Monitor production status and actively manage past-due orders to support on-time delivery and customer commitments.
  • Maintain accurate records of production output, equipment downtime, and employee attendance in accordance with company policies and labor regulations.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures, address performance and conduct issues, and promote a positive, engaged, and productive work environment.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to perform root cause analysis, including 5-Why investigations, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Lean manufacturing, and process optimization to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Support inventory control activities, including troubleshooting inventory discrepancies and assisting with cycle counts and audits.
  • Lead, coach, and develop production employees through training, performance feedback, and skills development.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and cross-training initiatives to build team capability and flexibility.
  • In partnership with management, prepare performance evaluations and administer corrective and disciplinary actions, up to and including termination, as required.
  • Supervise employee attendance using the company timekeeping system in accordance with state and federal labor laws.
  • Promote a respectful, productive work environment and effectively manage conflict in high-pressure production situations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.

  • Prepare and present departmental reports and operational updates as required.
Requirements:

Essential/Preferred Skills:

  • 1+ year of experience in a lead or supervisory role within an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on manufacturing experience in electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and supervisory best practices.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, bills of material, and work instructions.
  • Proficiency or ability to become proficient in business systems and standard office software (Word, Excel).
  • Demonstrated leadership capability with strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Continuous improvement or Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Advanced education or technical training is a plus.

  

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, or move materials or equipment up to approximately 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring bending, leaning, and manual dexterity to handle tools and parts.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, or steel-toe footwear, may be required in designated areas.
  • Visual acuity (with or without corrective lenses) sufficient to inspect parts, read engineering drawings, measurements, and documentation.
  • Work environment may have regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
