Job Summary

Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, the Risk Coordinator will assist in identifying, reducing, and mitigating risk by maintaining documentation, tracking incidents, and assisting with compliance reporting of workers compensations claims, safety programs, and insurance matters.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate, adjust, and settle claims in collaboration with affected Agency staff and direction from legal Counsel

  • Obtain and track renewal certificates, invoices, policies and endorsements

  • Assist with company's insurance programs / property & liability coverage

  • Communicate and implement safety rules, policies, and procedures in support of the agency's safety vision and goals; and maintains accountability for the safety performance of all assigned employees

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits

  • Coordinate and track safety training sessions, certifications, and attendance records

  • Investigate workplace incidents and assist in root cause analysis and corrective action planning

  • Maintain safety documentation, reports, and regulatory compliance records (e.g., OSHA logs, SDS, etc.)

  • Support new hire safety orientations and ongoing employee safety communications

  • Collaborate with supervisors and managers to identify and mitigate potential hazards

  • Provide administrative support including data entry, filing, reporting, and correspondence related to safety and operations

  • Participate actively in safety committee meetings and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Monitor and order safety equipment and PPE as needed

  • Other Risk Management & Administration tasks as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, Risk Management, or other field closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation.

  • Three years of relevant experience administrative support and compliance in risk management functions such as workers' compensation administration, safety, risk financing, and/or investigations programs

  • Candidate must have own transportation and present evidence of current California driver’s license and insurance with good driving record at all times during employment. Position may require frequent driving.
