We are seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our team. This role is pivotal in facilitating HR processes across our organization, including onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, and administrative support.
Onboarding & Orientation: Coordinate new hire onboarding, prepare offer letters, process background checks, and schedule orientations.
Record Management: Complete I-9 verification, maintain personnel files, and ensure data accuracy for new hires in HRIS systems.
Employee Support: Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR processes, benefits, and general questions.
Benefits Administration: Assist with health and welfare plan enrollments, changes, and terminations. Process payroll and insurance documents and reconcile benefits statements.
Leave Management: Manage FMLA and other leaves of absence in compliance with federal and state guidelines.
Collaboration: Coordinate with payroll on pay exceptions and ensure smooth communication between HR and other departments.
Compliance & Auditing: Support audits for payroll, benefits, and other HR programs, recommending corrective actions as needed.
Recruitment Support: Track candidates in HRIS, schedule interviews, and send follow-up communications during recruitment.
Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 1 year of Human Resources experience within the state of California is required.
1 year of working in the Non-profit sector.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred:
Experience with ADP Workforce Now.
Knowledge of applicant tracking systems (ATS).
