Position Summary:

Richardson Bay Audubon Center & Sanctuary in Tiburon, CA, is looking for one individual passionate about educating young children on the wonders of nature and environmental science and a desire to coordinate daily camp operations.

Audubon Adventure Camp consists of a summer long commitment including one week of staff training and eight week-long camp sessions for children ages 4-7.


  • Length of Assignment: June 15th through August 14th, 2026

  • Hours: 40 hrs per week


  • This role is on-site at Richardson Bay Audubon Center & Sanctuary in Tiburon, CA.


    Compensation:


    $23.75 - $26.00 / hour


    Essential Functions:
  • Interface with parents/guardians during camp drop-off and pick-up

  • Be point of contact of naturalists throughout the camp day

  • Coordinating preparation of camp curriculum and camp projects

  • Ensuring daily camp prep and clean-up is completed

  • Leading camp activities in a safe and engaging manner

  • Developing conservation and restoration activities for camp participants

  • Keeping a log of curriculum and your Naturalist experience to share at weekly staff meetings

  • Additional duties that contribute to the success of a non-profit


  • Qualifications and Experience:
  • Skilled in creating a safe, warm and welcoming atmosphere to awaken children's curiosity for and enjoyment of nature

  • Able to interact well with children, teens and adults, especially parents

  • Experience working with children and teaching children

  • Ability to plan and conduct nature-themed lesson plans/activities for children

  • Reliable, self-motivated, emotionally mature, creative and team player

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Interest in local natural history and the outdoor environment

  • Willing to work outdoors in any weather as necessary

  • Current First Aid/CPR certification required
