Lead Quality Engineer - 598
We are seeking a highly skilled and driven Lead Quality Engineer to join our team in Broomfield, CO. This role is responsible for developing quality processes for complex systems to ensure reliability, scalability, and manufacturability. You will lead quality initiatives across the product lifecycle, from design validation to production testing, while building a Quality Management System tailored to our products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop systems and processes for design verification, manufacturing quality, and inspection planning.
- Establish a quality management system tailored for the business that maintains traceability and compliance.
- Work cross-functionally to develop quality processes and drive strategic inspection plans.
- Partner with material management to set up inspection plan standards and ensure hardware is received ready for production.
- Evaluate non-conformances for root cause and drive corrective actions.
- Define, track, and report on key quality metrics (yield, reliability, process capability) to drive continuous improvement.
- Evaluate designs for critical inspection criteria and ensure manufacturability and compliance with quality standards.
YOU MUST HAVE:
- Bachelor's degree minimum
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in quality or reliability engineering, including implementing quality systems.
- Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
- Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.
WE VALUE:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Physics
- Experience with complex hardware systems (aerospace, optical, cryogenic, photonics, electronics)
- Demonstrated experience across a full product lifecycle.
- Hands-on approach to problem solving and willingness to engage directly with R&D and production teams
- Experience working in development lab environment
- Proficiency in GD&T and precision inspection techniques
- Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
- Experience with quality inspections and vendor management for passive optics (lenses, prisms, optical fibers and connectors) and active optics (acousto-optic modulators, electro-optic modulators, lasers)
- Experience with reliability testing of optical components and opto-mechanical systems
- Experience with data analytics for hardware performance
- Ability to build strong relationships and effectively partner with others
- Excellent organization, communication, and documentation skills
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
