Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer - 545
We are seeking an Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer in our Broomfield, CO, Location. All applicants for placement in safety-sensitive positions will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug test.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply mechanical design tools such as Onshape and Ansys to rapidly design and deliver cryogenic systems that meet the evolving needs of customers, ranging from prototypes to commercial products
- Utilize Onshape and Arena PLM software tools to manage design releases and product documentation
- Work hands on to build and validate your prototypes and deliver commercial systems
- Work closely with a small, cross functional design team to rapidly conceptualize, validate and deliver high reliability cryogenics systems
- Work within a fast-paced environment to turn concepts into prototype designs & iterate on these designs based on lab test results
YOU MUST HAVE:
- Bachelor's degree minimum
- Minimum 5+ years of mechanical design experience
- Minimum 1+ years of experience performing thermal modeling and analysis
- Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
- Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.
WE VALUE:
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering
- Broad understanding of thermodynamics and heat transfer principles, with practical experience applying this knowledge to real-world engineering challenges
- Experience designing, building and operating cryogenic, vacuum and electro-mechanical systems
- Experience with thermal and vibrational modeling and using this analysis to inform design decisions
- Experience working hands on to build and validate your prototypes and system designs
- Experience with mechanical inspection and working with suppliers on complex mechanical procurement and subcontracts
- Experience with PLM/PDM to manage design releases and engineering change orders ensuring documentation compliance throughout the product development lifecycle.
