Leidos’ Defense Systems – Colorado Manufacturing Facility is seeking a CMM Programmer / Operator to join our team. In this role, you’ll ensure machined components and assemblies meet strict quality standards in accordance with drawings, specifications, and procedures. You'll also play a key part in supporting documentation, troubleshooting, and non-conformance tracking—directly impacting the performance and reliability of mission-critical hypersonic defense systems. This is a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, self-direction, and teamwork are essential.
Occasional travel will be required for in-person engagements with internal customers and suppliers across multiple Leidos sites. This role will report directly to the Procurement Vice President, Global Supply Chain and will be an integrated member of the supply chain organization. The Director, (DSS) Global Supply Chain will be responsible for full life cycle (“cradle to grave”) subcontract management and materials management within the operations. This role will manage and lead a diverse team of procurement leaders & professionals and requires deep management and leadership knowledge cross multiple business areas.

Primary Responsibilities.
• Program Coordinate Measuring Machines using PCDMIS Software.
• Inspect manufactured products with CMM.
• Identify and document nonconformances.
• Read, interpret, and understand technical documents (drawings, specifications, test procedures, etc.)
• Prepare and maintain inspection records, quality documentation, and discrepancy reports.
• Operate other types of standard inspection and measuring equipment, optical comparators, micrometers, calipers, gauges, and GOM Scanning Equipment against tight tolerances utilizing GD&T and embedded model dimensioning.
• Participate in, and provide necessary support of corrective actions, documentation control, calibration, and receiving inspection.
Basic Qualifications.
• Bachelors Degree with 2-4 years of CMM experience. Will substitute degree requirement for applicable skills and years of experience.
• Knowledge and understanding when reading and interpreting drawings, must have a clear knowledge and understanding of GD&T.
• Experience using micrometers, height gages, gage blocks, radius gages, and calipers etc.
• Experience populating handwritten or computer-generated inspection reports.
• Practical computer skills and experience using software such as Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
• Candidate must have experience working with non-conforming material, performing failure analysis, identifying root-cause and implementing corrective action.
• Experience effectively communicating within a team environment.
• Experience inspecting complex aerospace hardware and supporting Material Review Board (MRB) processes.
• Candidate must be a resident of the Colorado Springs area or willing to relocate to the Colorado Springs – Monument - Pueblo, CO area.
• Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess or meet the eligibility to obtain (and be able to maintain) Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications.
• Experience in an AS9100 Aerospace and Defense manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with AS9102 First Article Inspection and Acceptance Data Pack review/creation.
• Formalized training on CMM software (PCDMIS, Calypso, CMM Manager, etc.)
• Knowledge of AS5553 counterfeit prevention practices.
• Experience in handling non-conforming materials and writing/processing NCRs.
