Qualifications
We are currently seeking a Traffic Engineering Intern in our Denver, CO office. The Traffic Engineering Intern will be mentored by and collaborate with top Engineering associates on our team. The position involves participating in the development of traffic operations analysis, reports and studies for a variety of project types. This is an amazing opportunity to gain hands-on experience and a better understanding of Traffic Engineering and Transportation Engineering. Responsibilities:

- Gather and provide data for the preparation of engineering reports and studiesPerform traffic volume development calculations in ExcelAssist in preparation of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) planning and designAssist in preparation of traffic control construction phasing, signing and markings plans, signal design, and lighting designAssist in the development of traffic operations analysis models and reportsMay sometimes need to assist with field workOther entry level engineering duties, as needed
- Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Program at an ABET accredited universityInterest and/or prior experience in the field of transportation/traffic engineeringAbility to work independently with general supervision as well as within a collaborative team environmentWillingness to work with different teams to meet project deadlinesA working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel)Effective written and verbal communication skills
- 2.5 GPA or abovePrior internship or related experienceCoursework that includes Transportation Engineering, Transportation Planning, and/or Traffic EngineeringExperience with traffic analysis tools (HCS, Synchro, and Sidra) and traffic simulation modeling (TransModeler and VISSIM)Exposure to AutoCAD, ArcGIS, MicroStation
