CALIBRE Systems, Inc., an employee-owned mission focused solutions and digital transformation company, is looking for a highly motivated Senior Cloud Architect to join our dynamic team supporting a federal client. This role requires an innovative and collaborative mindset, with the ability to work closely with designers, back-end engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality, scalable digital solutions. With the requirement of a security clearance, CALIBRE will not be sponsoring for this position. This is a remote opportunity. The budget for this role is $200-225K per year. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: · Work directly with government clients to understand mission objectives and IT modernization goals · Assess current-state systems, applications, and infrastructure to identify technical gaps and modernization opportunities · Design cloud and hybrid cloud architectures that meet functional, security, and compliance requirements · Develop and evaluate application modernization and cloud migration strategies · Provide hands-on technical guidance during implementation, including architecture reviews, design decisions, and troubleshooting · Support cloud migration and modernization efforts to ensure alignment with defined objectives, timelines, and constraints · Contribute to the development and application of standards, patterns, and best practices for cloud adoption and application modernization · Collaborate with engineers, security teams, and program leadership to ensure solutions are practical, secure, and supportable
Required Skills: · Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders · Strong understanding of systems, network, and application architecture · Excellent communication skills for conveying technical insights to non-technical stakeholders · Basic working knowledge (i.e. ability to understand, speak about, and participate in solutioning) of the following domains: Data privacy (specifically PII/PHI), data science, the software development life cycle, federal data policies, the Tricare Military Health System.
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field · 8+ years of experience in information technology, systems engineering, or architecture roles · 3+ years of hands-on experience with cloud platforms and application modernization or migration efforts · AWS Cloud Practitioner certification or equivalent foundational cloud knowledge · AWS Associate or Professional-level certifications (Solutions Architect and/or DevOps Engineer) · Experience supporting federal government clients, including familiarity with security, compliance, and accreditation considerations · Experience working closely with delivery teams in an implementation or engineering capacity · Demonstrated experience working with Federal healthcare agencies, Federal healthcare data, and/or data containing PII/PHI · Active Secret Clearance at the Department of Defense (or eligibility to obtain a clearance) · Ability to work east coast business hours (8am-5pm) · Active Security+ certification
