Position Title: Business Analyst- Test
Position Overview
Akumen, Inc. is seeking a Business Analyst to support a federal program in Washington, DC. This role serves as a key liaison between clients, stakeholders, and technical teams, supporting program objectives through requirements analysis, documentation, and process improvement. The Business Analyst will analyze business and system requirements, identify gaps or ambiguities, and support the delivery of technology-based solutions that meet end-user and mission needs.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Interface with clients and stakeholders to define and validate user requirements and project status
- Analyze user requirements to identify implicit, ambiguous, or conflicting requirements and recommend solutions
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including requirements specifications, use cases, and process flows
- Conduct business process modeling and support business process reengineering initiatives
- Support analysis of business and system requirements to ensure alignment with program goals and end-user satisfaction
- Identify and help resolve complex issues and opportunities for technology-based solutions
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business, Management, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience performing business analysis or requirements analysis
- Demonstrated experience eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business and system requirements
- Experience producing technical documentation in structured or regulated environments
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting federal government programs or contracts
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall development methodologies
- Experience with business process modeling and reengineering techniques
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA, PMP, Certified Scrum Master)
- Experience working with cross-functional technical teams
Security Clearance
- Must possess an active security clearance or have the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance, as required by the program
