How Do Summer Internships Work?
Interns start mid-May and work until early August and work full-time (40 hours per week). TLC provides flexible schedule options with various start times. Interns have the benefit of TLC’s hybrid schedule where they can work up to 3 days from home. There are opportunities for Interns to continue after the summer on a part-time basis dependent upon performance and school schedule.
Responsibilities:
The Intern will be at the intersection of physical hardware and digital insights, helping us turn building telemetry into actionable data. In this role, you will directly support the development of TLC’s Intelligent Real Estate (IRE) program through activities such as:
Assist in the assembly, flashing, and testing of sensor boards. Map data points from Building Management Systems to our cloud dashboards. Conduct sensor "bench tests" to ensure data accuracy. Support the creation of real-time dashboards for data visualization.
Required Qualifications:
Currently pursuing an accredited bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar. You like taking things apart or building with microcontrollers (ESP32, Arduino, Raspberry Pi). Knowledge of C/C++ (for firmware) and Python (for data handling). A fundamental understanding of how sensors talk to networks (Wi-Fi, MQTT, or BACnet). Strong analytical skills with the ability to document technical "build logs" and testing results.
