This position is 100% remote anywhere in the US.
Overview:
Precisely is the leader in data integrity, helping organizations make confident decisions through trusted data. We are seeking a Technical Consultant to support customers as they modernize and integrate their IBM z/OS and IBM i environments. In this role, youll implement logging, monitoring, and dataintegration solutions that connect mainframe and midrange data to cloud and onpremises platforms, while designing reliable data pipelines and enabling downstream analytics. Your work will help customers maximize the value of Precisely technology and strengthen their visibility, operations, and overall data strategy. We prefer someone located in Eastern Standard time zone.
What you will do:
- Install and configure Precisely software on IBM z systems and IBM I systems 20%
- Educate customers and assist with presales demos and proof of concepts on Precisely offerings and technology as well as mainframe and IBM i operations 10%
- Integrate and configure discovered data, event management rule and service mapping rules in ServiceNow 10%
- Configure and develop visualizations and alerts for mainframe and IBM i log data in Splunk, Elastic/Kibana/Grafana, etc. 20%
- Collaborate with internal teams to assist and educate on challenges or needs to help evolve Precisely technology 10%
- Scope and assist in the development of statement of works for professional services engagements 10%
- Assist in the testing and data validation of DB2, VSAM, IMS, sequential data and relational databases replication to cloud or distributed systems 10%
- Install and configure software on Linux and Windows systems 5%
- Design and build data integration solutions using ETL technologies 5%
- Customize Precisely solutions with programs, like Python, Java and/or REXX.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelors degree in a technologyrelated field or 5+ years of experience in database administration or mainframe modernization projects.
- Ability and willingness to support customer initiatives during occasional afterhours or weekend work.
- Openness to working with IBM z/OS and IBM i systems, including learning legacy technologies such as VSAM, COBOL, IMS, CICS, JCL, RPG, and related environments.
- At least 2 years of handson experience in Linux, UNIX, or another commandlinedriven environment.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with ETL or other data transformation/manipulation technologies.
- Programming or analytical experience in multiple areas such as:
- SQL
- JCL or REXX
- RPG
- C/C++
- Java
- UNIX shell scripting
- Python
- Regular expression processing
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%.
