Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in film/video production, cinematography, radio and television, documentary film production, photojournalism, communications, graphic design, or a closely related field to the position.
2. One (1) year (12 months) of professional work experience in areas including non-linear video editing, motion graphics, video lighting and composition, camera operation, graphics design, audio recording, video production, or a closely related professional area.
3. Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position, may be required.
NOTE: Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year (12 months) of work experience.

- Film and create video content that tells the story of SIUE in a compelling way that attracts and retains students and engages the interaction of other stakeholders.
- Film campus events and experiences, conduct interviews, and review and edit footage to produce videos for use at events and on digital platforms including social media, YouTube, and web pages.
- Participate in the creative planning process and collaborate with people across campus to support initiatives set forth by Marketing and Communications staff and other SIUE department leaders.
- Organize and archive video footage for continuous use by Marketing and Communications staff.
- Conduct filming and related responsibilities at multiple campus locations throughout the region as well as off-site locations as directed.

- Knowledge and application of the following:
- Creative composition, including framing, rule of thirds, leading lines, layering of subjects, and use of focus and white space for visual interest, and cinematography techniques such camera movements and motion stabilization.
- Lighting and audio techniques for video production.
- Drone operation for aerial videography.
- Managing and sharing digital assets, maintaining organized video storage and archives, and backing up workflows for high-volume production.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Proof of a valid driver's license and good driving record
