Key Accountabilities:
- Apply problem-solving skills to deal creatively with complex situations
- Provide contingency options to recover distressed trucks with minimal service impact
- Negotiate rates with vendors for ad hoc truck movements
- Establish and build carrier relationships
- Ensure reoccurring issues are raised to the right management function and level for review
- Perform check calls as required to ensure service goals are met
- Monitor all Linehaul trucking in the US ground network
- Update and track all Network Linehaul trucks
- Respond and action station/general inquiries regarding truck operations
- Retrieve PODs and provide to required internal customers
- Pro-actively engage in all issues that will impact service and follow thru to completion
- Accomplish data entry for all Linehaul trucks
- Produce and publish daily service reports to be provided to internal customers
- Coordinate/communicate with vendors and station personnel regarding Linehaul status
- Provide guidance, advice and/or training to colleagues on all Linehaul related issues
- Ensure compliance with established DHL policies on freight movement
- Monitor carrier performance and recommend actions for compliance failure
- Develop a thorough understanding of Linehaul network / working understanding of the Air network
- Accomplish additional duties as assigned
- Make/implement recommendations for improved efficiency, accuracy and cost savings
- Monitor daily shipments to ensure service levels are achieved
- Coordinate actions to execute solutions and achieve service goals
Skills & Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years Transportation, Logistics or Operations experience
- Excel, Word and Power Point experience required
- Strong communication skills (written and oral)
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Strong knowledge of Network Operations and workings of DHL
- Ability to influence and negotiate with outside vendors
- Excellent business acumen
- Effective planning, organization and decision-making competencies

- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chail Management, Transportation or related field.
