| Job Summary | The University of Kentucky seeks an International Recruiter to play a key role in the university’s new strategic international recruitment initiative. This initiative will increase the number of qualified undergraduate applicants to the university and support the growth of international enrollment on campus. This high-energy and motivated individual will report to the Director of International Recruitment, and will be a member of the University of Kentucky’s International Center (UKIC) team. The International Recruiter will be responsible for the implementation of international student recruitment efforts. This position plays a very important role in the recruitment and outreach activities of the UKIC. This staff member will meet with prospective students and their parents, secondary school counselors, various groups on and off campus, alumni, and other contacts in a variety of venues to promote the opportunities offered at the University of Kentucky, and support undergraduate applications to the University of Kentucky. A significant part of the recruitment process will be establishing and nurturing relationships that serve as a conduit for international students. This staff member will collaborate with other Enrollment Management staff members, working together to coordinate recruitment and admissions activities, and to ensure effective and supportive communication with prospects and applicants. In addition, this staff member will collaborate with the Office of International Student and Scholar Services to ensure a smooth transition for admitted international students. |
| Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | • Valid driver’s license (or ability to obtain a valid driver’s license) • Valid passport (or ability to obtain a valid passport) If the applicant’s ability to obtain the necessary visas for international travel required for this position will be restricted due to the passport-issuing country, this factor will be taken into consideration by the university. |

| Preferred Education/Experience | • Experience in international student recruitment • Experience working in higher education with students from diverse backgrounds • Ability to engage in extensive international and domestic travel as required by the position. Some evening and weekend work is required. • Professional written communication and public speaking skills • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple competing priorities • Familiarity with computer applications • Ability to speak multiple languages preferred • Experience is sales, communication, business development |
