Job Summary
The University of Kentucky, College of Nursing is seeking an Assistant Professor, Special Title Series (tenure-eligible) position. This position is a 12-month appointment focused on teaching human anatomy to nursing students in the undergraduate program. We anticipate a start date of August 1, 2026, but no later than October 1, 2026.

This position, based in Lexington, KY, will teach human anatomy in the face-to-face traditional undergraduate program and requires an individual to advise and mentor students. This candidate will contribute to scholarly practice and in advancing nursing professionalism. Candidate will implement and evaluate the assigned didactic and lab course in the College’s undergraduate program. They will plan and evaluate student experiences and guide undergraduate students. Additionally, the candidate may serve as an undergraduate clinical instructor as delineated, if aligned with academic and experiential preparation.

Candidates must hold a terminal degree in Nursing, Anatomy, Physiology, Biological Sciences, or a closely related field required. Minimum of two (2) years teaching Anatomy and/or Physiology courses in an undergraduate program within the last five (5) years required.

Ideal applicants will have at least five (5) years of experience teaching Anatomy and/or Physiology courses to undergraduate health professions or nursing students and the ability to connect anatomical concepts to clinical reasoning and patient care.

• Preparation in teaching and learning principles for undergraduate courses, including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
• Ability to integrate anatomical knowledge with clinical nursing concepts.
