| Physical Requirements | The physical requirements for this position include regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time with repetitive motion (such as typing); walking including pushing, pulling, and/or lifting up to 10lbs and occasional pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects up to 50lbs. The conditions of work may involve regular exposure to loud noises, intermittent exposure to blood borne/airborne pathogens and combative/violent people, and occasional exposure to cuts and punctures |

| Job Summary | The Department of Internal Medicine – Medicine Specialties Clinic seeks an individual to provide front desk registration and scheduling services in a busy Gastroenterology and Pulmonary outpatient clinic practice. Duties include, but are not limited to: registration, copay collection, chart preparation, scheduling appointments for new and returning patients, communicating information with patients via the telephone and in person, and answering telephone. This position supports efficient patient care and clinic initiatives for improving patient attendance and keeping attendance records. |
| Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | The ideal candidate will have extensive customer service experience and able to communicate in a calm and helpful manner during stressful and/or crisis situations. Should have the ability to pay high attention to detail; work with a teamwork mindset; have data entry skills and respect for confidentiality; be able to prioritize tasks efficiently; and work in multiple systems simultaneously. This position requires the ability to multi-task, provide exceptional customer service, accurately type at a minimum 60 WPM, attention to detail and excellent communication skills – both in person and on telephone, as well as organizational and computer skills. |

| Preferred Education/Experience | Four or more years related experience with outpatient medical office experience preferred.
